Gay street is pretty long - just where about? Is it in front of private resisdences or business places? They are responsible for their own sidewalk. Is it in front of Borough property? Then call 610-933-8801 and file a complaint. Otherwise call the owner of the property. Or even better yet, perform a public service and clean it up yourself!
The map should show the location. The problem is that this is not a one-time deal. Busted glass (from beer bottles) sits on the sidewalks for weeks, and it happens (of course) with greater frequency in the summer. There have been times where there have been a couple areas on each side of the bridge where there are broken bottles. They cover the whole sidewalk in the area, and when I walk my dog, I have to take him in the street for fear he'll get a shard or two in his paw.
OK - Gay Street bridge, I believe belongs to PennDoT being a bridge on SR113. I also believe that the Borough gets paid to maintain the bridge as far as snow removal and street sweeping. Not too sure about who maintains the sidewalks. I suggest your contact the Borough's Streets Department, Ray Tanyer, at 610-933-8801 Ext. 511. If you get no satisfaction there, contact the Borough Manager, E. Jean Krack, at 610-933-8801 Ext 110. If none of that works try calling PennDoT or as a previous poster suggested, clean it up yoursellf.
