Update from Neighborhood Transportation: Transportation Department staff have completed 24-hour vehicle speed and volume studies on S.E Boulevard N. The results are as follows:
N/B = 188 vehicles; average operating speed = 33.88 MPH; 18 or 9.6 % of the total vehicles exceeded 35 MPH
S/B = 285 vehicles; average operating speed = 31.62 MPH; 17 or 6.0% of the total vehicles exceeded 35 MPH
Based on these results this area would not qualify for speed humps as we require that the average operating speed exceed 35 MPH. We can however schedule our post mounted Neighborhood Speed Watch - radar speed display sign, to be posted. This helps to educate motorist of their speeds and the posted 25 MPH speed limit. It's placed for one week in each direction and helps to reduce speeding and increase traffic safety.
Please contact Neighborhood Transportation (727-893-7843) should you have any questions and thank you for your interest in traffic safety in the City of St. Petersburg.

That is nonsense. So 188 cars speeding by over 8mph in a residential does not show enough speeders.
Nonsense, your stats right there show the need for traffic calming.
